war eagle! i have to admit my team scared me to death. they got it under control in the second half, but i was still very anxious until the game was over. crazy things tend to happen in the auburn/alabama game. but we prevailed. i'm still hoping we'll get to play for the national championship. i guess we'll see.

sunday night cory, lindsey, and i went to the new fuddrucker's in town to see whitney at her new job. she did an excellent job of course. she also hooked us up with a huge bowl of brownies, ice cream, whip cream, chocolate syrup and caramel. it was beautiful and tasty.

sunday night i couldn't go to sleep (i had taken a long nap on sunday afternoon) and ended up cleaning my apartment until about 3 a.m. it was the "going through your closets and looking through boxes you haven't touched since you moved in" kind of cleaning. i also cleaned my bathroom. i tend to use about half a bottle of shampoo and then decide i need to try something else so i have an impressive collection of shampoo and conditioner bottles that are just full enough that i feel guilty about throwing them away. i also have tons of random body wash and bubble bath. i guess i got them from all the bath and body works gift bags i've gotten over the last few years. anyway, i was in the zone and threw away a lot of stuff. i'm a pack rat by nature, so the zone only comes along every once in a while.

so monday i planned on going in to the office half a day and get the essentials done before leaving work. predictably, i didn't leave until 5. i ran to the mall to take some things back and then it was time for kickboxing and then i realized i hadn't packed yet. by the time i got everything done, it was 1 a.m. and i was setting my alarm for 4 a.m. that is a horrible feeling.

i'm assuming my alarm did in fact go off at 4, but i woke up at 4:23 which was not good. but i made it to the airport for my 6 a.m. flight to dfw. my flight got into dfw around 7:10. my flight to birmingham was leaving around 10:40 so i took my time, got a chai, had some breakfast, took a short nap, read a book. unfortunately, storms rolled in to the dfw area and our flight was delayed. we finally boarded the plane around 11:45, but sat on the runway until 2:15. that was not fun, although my fellow travelers were extremely kind and patient. and i did finish my book (about a boy)- that i had started earlier that morning. that was a little disappointing because i like a good story to stretch out and take a few days at least. but, i was thankful i had taken it with me. anyway, i finally made it to birmingham around 3:30. it is good to be home!

even though i was very tired, i made time to pick up the new U2 album, which is beautiful and i love it already. i will be spending lots of quality time with it over the next few days. peace.
