i found the website for the mellow mushroom. it turns out they are all over the southeast. if you ever go to one, i suggest the house calzone!

ok, so once again it has been a really long time since my last blog. in my defense, i did blog after i got back from mexico, but it seems to have disappeared. just so you know, it was incredibly deep and profound. you'll have to take my word for it.

last week i got to go home to alabama. i spent most of my time with my sister and her family and my grandparents in auburn. you know those places that you get to and you just naturally relax and all is right with the world, no matter what is going on in your life or the world? that is what auburn is to me. and auburn in the spring is just amazing - it even smells good. i know, many of you are rolling your eyes and/or dry heaving right now, but you know you have those places, too.

anyway, my time there was great because i got to just hang out with my grandfather while he is in the hospital. he is a wise, kind, thoughtful, loving, godly man of integrity. he told me some stories about when he was in the service, meeting my grandmother, and other stuff that happened way before i was born. it was a blessing to have that time with him.

i also spent time with my sister, cindy who has a great servant heart and her little girl, auburn. yes, that's right, her name is auburn. they took me to one of my favorite restaurants in the whole world, mellow mushroom. if you ever have a chance to go to mellow mushroom ( i know there is one in nashville), go. you will not be sorry!

so, it was a good trip. i even got a free night in chicago thanks to some mechanical problems on my flight out of birmingham. i met some interesting people on my flight, but i'll have to save that for another blog.
