i had an excellent weekend. it actually started on thursday when rachel, mandii, lindsey, and i made our way to edmond, ok to check out a bebo norman concert. the concert was great and we had a blast just being together. i love being with my girls - they make me laugh so much! plus, it is such a great thing to see them growing and seeking out God.

another reason i went is to help at the compassion international table. 21 new sponsors signed up! that made the trip even better!

my friend, mary virginia and her boyfriend, who were traveling to st. louis got to my house about 1 a.m. we talked for a little while and then crashed. we got up the next morning and went to ihop. it was good to see her and great to meet matt. friday afternoon i went to a wright soccer game in tahlequah with teresa mcilroy. the guys lost, but they played very hard!

saturday i went to kickboxing. it was a great way to start my day. the rest of the day i read, went to starbucks, prepared for my class on sunday, and just hung out. sunday we had a great lesson from wade. AND my dave crowder band cd finally came.

some of you know i have been closely watching the mail waiting for the new cd to show up. i was actually getting a little distressed because it still hadn't shown up on friday. but, it was definitley worth the wait! after church on sunday i spent some serious quality time with the new cd. it is so good. christian music sometimes gets kind of a copycat rep i think. i've read articles where it gets slammed because it seems like christian music tries to provide the christian alternative to your favorite secular bands. i'm not going to comment on what i think, but i will say that the dave crowder band cannot be accused of that. one of the things i love about them is that they are so original and creative. how many other worship bands can you name that use a turntable, and use it well? anyway, it is definitely worth a listen at your local bookstore or on their website. peace.
